Why tennis is not a real sport
To get started, all the person needs is a racquet and tennis balls. These are very affordable, and they last a long time for casual players. One of the more difficult things for any tennis player is to find quality opponents. People want to have suitable matches as much as possible, because it keeps things interesting for the most part. It is nice to win at times, but winning too often can become boring and not allow players to grow.
The advantage of playing tennis over team sports is that it takes just one other person to match the skill level. Once a person finds a few different partner options, they can begin scheduling as many matches as possible. It is a challenge for both players, keeping interest in the game high. Tennis groups also help players stay connected to the game well into their retirement years. Tennis is one of the more popular sports for older players, especially when playing doubles. It allows people to stay active and play the sport they love, but they do not necessarily have to move around as much.
More often than not, people have to give up many other sports as they age, but tennis is still friendly enough on the body to play for decades. The internet has made it considerably easier for people to find new players just about anywhere. They are a variety of apps that connect players to find quality opponents, and there is always the option to go to a local tennis place. At a professional level, tennis seems to be at the tail end of a very popular time.
Once these top people step away, there are huge holes to fill for top talented players who have not had the same level of success to this point. You mentioned this idea, but would you agree with my elaboration?
In addition, I think you should include studies regarding the physical shape that professional tennis players are in compared to other professional athletes. This would provide some more concrete evidence to support the fact that tennis players are true athletes. I am a tennis player and agree tennis is a great sport!
It is a sport that is a perfect combination of skill, athleticism, fitness, and mental toughness. I believe that part of the reason why tennis is underrated in America is because in order to fully appreciate the sport of tennis you have to play it, and many people in the U. During high school, I had many friends who played tennis and I was always amazed by the amount of finesse it took to be able to rally the ball back and forth over the net. Tennis is cool.
It was just like celebrating some festival holiday that I still can remember how thrilled we were. However, my faith in table tennis started getting shaken after that. Some commentators acted like table tennis experts by telling us the profound technical and tactical play and awful psychological thing.
The commentators like to show off self-appreciation-speaking by expressing a lot of tournament names, and venues of competitions range from U21, U17, Open, Grand Prix, World Cup, World Championships, National Games, the Olympics blah blah blah.
All these make me sick. I started getting frustrated when I saw a lot of matches that play at a very fast pace. According to the international measurement, it can take about one second for the ping pong ball to shift from one player to the opponent when he hit with his paddle. And most of the time, the table tennis ball just being played back and forth for 2 to 3 times and ended there. For casual spectators who watch the game on the TV channel, they may not even get into the game yet, but the play already ends from point to point.
While for offensive players, the rallies typically end in a short time. As almost all players emphasise third-ball attack where the player who serves the ball does a tricky serve to let the opponent have some difficulty to receive the ball, and when the opponent hits back, the player will make a killing on the shot. After watching so many matches playing like that, I started to feel bored and turn the TV to another sports channel. Go cry in the corner and tell someone else your sob story about how tennis isn't a sport because according to me and right now about other people it is.
Whoever wrote this either doesn't play tennis or is really bad at it, since they think the concept of the game it standing there grunting XD. Wow, OP, what a troll. In case you didn't notice, most tennis players are in better shape than a lot of athletes. Just because it's not as big here in the U. Real, competitive tennis is a crazy difficult sport.
Obviously you've never played. A sport is something that takes physical skill, and mental skill. So technically tennis is a sport and a difficult one at that as well as cheerleading a LOT harder than tennis. Things that wouldn't be considered sports are stupid things like poker. Im a tennis player and let me tell you tennis is as much as a sport as football or soccer or basketball, not only does it require one to be physically fit but also requires one to be mentally fit.
This might sound stupid but anyone who has played tennis competitively will know what I am talking about. I could write for days about why tennis is a sport but i really dont want to waste my time on explaining something to someone this dumb. I play tennis and it is a mentally and physically grueling sport. We grunt because we hit things hard??? And also do you even play a sport LOL. Sports are just hard to play people. But tennis is an extremely physically demanding sport so OP, you are crazy.
