Why did crossfade break up

Unlike Apple Music, you can turn off gapless playback. Step 1: On the Spotify home screen, tap the gear icon in the top-right corner of the screen. Gapless playback is the uninterrupted playback of consecutive audio tracks, such that relative time distances in the original audio source are preserved over track boundaries on playback. For this to be useful, other artifacts than timing-related ones at track boundaries should not be severed either.

For crossfading two music tracks, an overlap of around 5 seconds is usually suitable, though sometimes a much shorter, or longer crossfade may sound better. How long the crossfade transition lasts is largely a matter of personal taste. Gapless playback is also offered by the Qobuz and Tidal mobile apps, both of which are available for iOS and Android devices. Align the two tracks you want to crossfade in the timeline, either by editing or by using the time shift tool. A louder song generally has a different impact on listeners than a softer, quieter song.
