By attaching the pics with magnet discs that you decorate, these become "perpetual" keepsakes that you can simply change out the pictures on from year to year! Cut 1 yard lengths each of green and kraft jute.
This gives you one longer and one shorter piece of each color. Run the short length of both colors up the right side of the frame and the longer length up the left frame side. Keep both raw ends coming out from the back to the front of the bottom holes. The remaining two ends will meet up at the top right, again coming from the back to the front, to be tied in a bow. Or use Maya Road pre-cut chipboard buttons to cover with the red plaid paper.
Be sure to punch on the outer edge of the plaid paper since the remaining paper will be used for the main base piece. Glue and layer chipboard to red plaid paper. Punch 2 button holes per piece with a Crop-a-dile. Ink edges with Chestnut Roan Chalk Ink. Holding a button to the frame, run each end through button hole and tie a knot on top. Repeat for the other side. Slide your trimmed out paper under the buttons.
Ink all edges. Die cut two green cardstock pine branches from the Impression Obsession Pin Bough die. Accent the die cut branches with a white Galaxy marker to simulate snow. Die cut snowflakes, 1 of each of the three sizes, out of white cardstock with theImpression Obsession snowflake dies.
Remove and set aside the tiny center piece from the largest snowflake. Glue the largest die cut snowflake to top right hand corner of main base paper and add a red gem to the snowflake center.
Turn the medium-sized die cut snowflake into a magnet with the Basic Grey magnetic discs. Lightly apply glue to center of snowflake and adhere to the magnet. Add a red gem to the snowflake center. Fancy cut around mug. Glue the remaining die cut snowflake the smallest of the snowflakes behind the mug and add the tiny center piece, previously set aside from the center of the large snowflake, to the bottom of mug.
Accent the center of the small snowflake with a red gem and sprinkle 2 smaller gems under the title. Add two magnets to the back. Now position your picture on red cardstock, holding in place with the snowflake and cup magnet embellishments. Layer the pine branches with a pop dot to achieve a bit of dimension. Tuck the layered boughs behind the picture. Now comes the hard part,. Why not do BOTH!!! Next year, swap out the photo in your frame to update it, or send a new photo to make this a gift that really is timeless!
