There is a bit of a learning curve and the instructions seem like a lot but once you take the time and read and play a few rounds, it all clicks. Not too hard for the younger players at all! The game takes about 90 minutes for 4 players , it says 60 but I have yet to see that with my family. If your family loves board games and wants a different type game that involves some strategy and not all luck , I recommend Catan.

If we do not have the necessary resources, we can acquire them by trading with our opponents. Each settlement is worth 1 victory point and each city is worth 2 victory points.
